Welcome to Our Homestead Adventure: Chaos, Feathers, and Family Life

Hey there! I’m Samantha, and welcome to our little slice of homestead heaven (and occasional chaos). Here’s the deal: we’re raising kids, animals, and dreams all at the same time—and yes, it’s as messy and amazing as it sounds.

Family First (and a Little Farm Too)

We have three kids: one curious, independent daughter, and two whirlwind sons who keep us on our toes. We homeschool all three—even the littlest one—so our days are a mix of lessons, chores, and life lessons rolled into one big, unpredictable adventure.

Feathers, Fur, and Fun

Our farm is bursting with life! We raise chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl, two breeds of Japanese quail, Bobwhite quail, and geese. Add a loyal dog and a playful herd of goats, and you’ve got a circus of love, noise, and occasionally, chaos. Every day brings something new—whether it’s chasing runaway goats, collecting eggs, or just watching the kids laugh with the animals.

Tinkering and Tradition

We live on my dad’s homestead, a place full of history and creativity. He’s a second-generation inventor and tinkerer, which means we’re surrounded by tools, ideas, and a little bit of controlled madness. It’s the perfect backdrop for building our dream: a self-sustaining homestead that combines old-school ingenuity with modern family life.

Why This Blog Exists

This is my space to share our journey—the highs, the lows, the lessons, and the laughs. You’ll find stories about homesteading with kids, raising poultry and goats, creating a self-sustaining lifestyle, and the little moments that make this chaos worth it. I’ll be honest, messy, and hopefully a little inspiring.

So, whether you’re a fellow homesteader, a parent juggling farm life with family life, or just someone curious about life with turkeys, goats, and three tiny humans, welcome. There’s a lot of adventure ahead, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Let’s get messy, let’s get creative, and let’s make this homestead life something worth talking about.
